Welcome to the recipes page where I'm delighted to share some amazing inspirations  from Australia's fabulous alcohol-free cocktail creative Natalie.

 

Natalie, creator of The Mindful Mocktail, has developed a site that is packed with packed with recipes for non alcoholic cocktails.

Her goal is to provide you with alcohol free drinks, without all the excess sugar. Her recipes include fresh fruit, aromatic spices, herbs from her own garden and as little artificial sugar as possible.

Here are three of her recipes to get you started

Grapefruit & Rosemary Mocktail

Grapefruit is loaded with nourishing vitamins, and is even more nutrient dense than oranges. It’s great for your immune system and high in antioxidants.

 

Ingredients

1 cup fresh rosemary
1 cup water
1 cup sweetener (see note below)
Pinch of sea salt
1/4 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
Sparkling water

 

Method

To make the rosemary syrup:
Add rosemary, water and sweetener to a small saucepan.
Stir to dissolve sweetener.
Leave on a very light boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, cover, and let seep for 30 mins. 
Set aside to cool.

Add 1/4 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and 1/8 cup rosemary syrup to an ice filled glass. You can adjust these amounts according to your taste if you wish, but I find this balance works nicely.
Top with sparkling water and finish with a pinch of salt.

Garnish.

Notes


I used monk fruit sweetener for this, you could also use Stevia, coconut sugar or another sweetener of your choice.
Note you will have enough rosemary syrup for 4 drinks, this will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Strawberry & Basil Sparkling

If you’ve never tried strawberry and basil together you are missing out, this combination is so beautiful.

Ingredients

3 strawberries, chopped
4-6 basil leaves depending on your taste preference and the strength of the basil you are using
Juice of half a lime
1 tsp sweetener of choice
Sparkling water or kombucha

Method

Add strawberries, basil, lime and sweetener (if using) to a glass.
Muddle together for about 1 minute.
Top with sparkling water or your favourite kombucha and stir.
Add ice and garnish.

Enjoy!

Virgin Mojito Mocktail

Put a healthy spin on a mojito by using fresh herbs and citrus fruits muddled together, topped with sparkling water or your favourite kombucha.

Ingredients

1 lime quartered
8-10 mint leaves
1 tsp sweetener of choice
Sparkling water

 

Method

Place lime, mint and sweetener in a glass.
Muddle for about 1 minute to release the lime juices and the flavour from the mint. If you don’t have a muddler, use a wooden spoon or similar - anything that will ‘smoosh’ all the ingredients together!
Top with sparkling water and ice.

Garnish with slices of lime.

Enjoy!

Notes
Tonic water or kombucha also tastes delicious in this.
If you want a bit of a kick, add some jalapeños to the glass while muddling.
